I am not much of an onthologist myself, but when I stayed at Zebrabar several Onthoiogists were there and they were very excited with the bird life here. Especially Osprey in large groups is something that you dont see in europe (ive been told) If...More

I visited in the off-season when all the migrants had returned to Europe but was able to see many white pelicans, cormorants, Caspien terns, and cattle egrets. The pirogue (boat) trip was fabulous and worth the small fee.

We took off from Zebrabar and sailed on River Senegal close to where the ocean and the river confluence. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience seeing the birds just flocking together, flying about, gliding on the water, etc...
