Catedral de Ica or St. Jerome Cathedral is located adjacent the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) in central Ica. It was constructed in the 18th century and renovated after the 2007 earthquake.

Not much to see from the street, other than noting how it was damaged by the earthquake. A fence surrounded it.

The cathedral is closed because it is very damaged by the 2007 earthquake. It is supposed to be rebuild, some huge billboards announced it, but nothing is done. So you can only see it from outside

If you are on the plaza de armas you could check it out. Its not the most impressing cathedral I've seen but its nice. Wouldn't go out of my way to go there though. It suffers from nobody doing anything after the earthquake in 2007...More

Cool to see from the outside as it's still in ruins from the 2007 earthquake. It's not worth going out of your way to see it, but if you are on the Plaza de Armas, head over to see it (just kitty corner from plaza).

Date of experience: January 2016
