Don't miss this on your trip to Niger, it's a beautiful mosque. I recommend getting a guide to support the local guide community and go through the necessary authorizations.

A trip to Agadez just isn't complete without visiting the grande mosquee. The mud-brick construction makes it a pretty unique mosque, and the view from the roof is lovely. As of December 2015, the minaret was closed for renovation, so I couldn't climb it, but...More

The view from the top of the minaret is unbeatable. A small donation will give you access to most of the mud brick mosque. Watch for spider webs and bats... lots and lots of bats going up the tower.
