Tour guide took us for an evening walk in the Spiny Forest and amazed us with his knowledge of the Baob trees and fauna. Just can't comprehend the vastness of the 3000 yr old Boab tree.

We saw sleeping nocturnal lemurs, endemic birds found only in this region, and of course the famous baobabs and cacti. You will need a guide to help you see these wonders of nature.

An early start is required to see the birds in this very unusual habitat. To see the octopus trees, balsa and baobabs here is exciting enough. The bird life is exceptional.

The spiny forest and unique baobabs held a beauty all their own. It must be a bird watcher's mecca. On the day we were there a rare bird seen only in Madagscar greeted us right inside the gate. But the thing I remember the most...More

We love this place so much. We were surrounded by so many Baobab trees and also other special kind of trees and plants unique in Africa or Madagascar. Each plant has its own style and posture. Here, we immersed ourselves in the authentic Madagasy nature.

Our guide was really knowledgeable about all the plants and how they are used by local people, even today. There are lots of unusually shaped baobab trees, one which is about 1200 years old. We did the 90 minute tour and it was well worth...More

The tour started with a ride in in a zebu oxcart. We stayed at the Bamboo Club, and it was a fairly short ride to the Reniala Reserve. The weather was perfect and not too many visitors. Our guide had worked there since the reserve...More
