We visited this on a day trip to Monterrico. Were not there during the time for sea turtles, but we got to see tropical gar, green iguanas, freshwater turtles, and caiman. While we prefer to see animals in the wild, it is good that places...More

It is very obvious that they have limited resources but try their best with what they have. You get to see turtles, crocs and iguanas up close, so it’s a good place to teach your kids to love and respect animals, plus it is very...More

Limited resources but their work with turtles is amazing. If you are there during turtle hatching it is well worth the visit.

Loved the experience of releasing baby turtles , it cost 10q per turtle about $1.30. They also have a rescue facility that has many different sea creatures

Absolute recommendation, and better be there rather early to be able to set one free yourself, for just 10Q which will help the Tortugario with their great work.

This is the reason to come to Monterrico. Experience releasing turtles at sunset (all hatched the previous night) into the Pacific Ocean. Release takes place every evening at 5:15pm. Costs Q10 per person!! I believe the season goes from October to February??

We visited in December when we had the opportunity to release the turtles. Memorable for the rest of our lives. To watch 100 baby turtles make a safe dash for the ocean was heart warming. they had alligators, giant sea turtles and iguanas. Very interesting...More

Monterrico is beautiful and a must see! Beautiful sand and ocean. I would recommend doing the Mangrove - it is tranquil and a beautiful water jungle. My only recommendation is NOT to use Anywhere.com to book. They false advertise and have horrible customer service skills....More
