The house that hosts this museum is a great reason to visit this location. The museum collection is not breathtaking. There is a small display of ancient pottery, copper and stone from surrounding Ecuadorean areas as well as a temporary exhibit upstairs. But the reason...More

I jotted down the address to this museum because Lonely Planet said it was free. After another trip I got off on the wrong bus somewhere about Esmeralda, and some kind passers-by saw me with my map, and this guy offered to walk with me...More

An interesting and unusual collection of local ancient artifacts, the ones exhibited are the 120 or so best of a much larger collection, most of which are not usually seen. Small but very good. The attractive building is within walking distance of downtown (10-15 minutes).

it has a very small/basic collection of clay figures from aboriginal peoples of ancient Ecuador. but the house is an architectural icon of Guayaquil. It wont take more than an hour to see the exibit and of course the house.

This museum is great for archaeological lovers only. It possesses a large collection of pottery artifacts and figurines, videos and special events. That's about it. Parking is available in it's surrounding areas.

The idea of a museum is great but few art on the exposition. For an arquitect is an impressive experience as the museum is on a house from the 50s. Spanish style is lovely.

The Museum has nothing to do with Elvis - it is a small collection of pottery collected from local architectural digs in Ecuador. There is no fee, BUT you must have your Passport or picture ID to get in. The building itself is a wonderful...More

But interesting, in a beautiful old building. Quite a walk from the Malecon but go down 9th October Street and shop on the way.

This relatively new private museum is two plus miles north of the Malecon, so you may wish to take a cab. Housed in a lovely historic mansion, the pre-Columbian artifacts are well selected, and there is a video room as well. Presley Norton was an...More
