This is the other Old Town in Lijiang. Which is probably better laid-out and easier to get around without getting lost. Touristy yes! that's why we travel to see how the other side is different to our own.

The Ancient town of Lijiang has a number of canals and waterways and over 2000 shops. It was devastated by an earthquake and is bouncing back. There are numerous cobblestone streets and resembles a European medieval village. Our guide (Cindy) was Naxi and showed us...More

Pretty, really nice, like it a lot. Cool. 13 year old says: Looks old and very Chinese. Vendors were very relaxed. We liked the small alleys with the bars and restaurants the best, even though we were there in the daytime and hey were not...More

It's nice to go around with friends. The shops mainly open late. There can be lots of people during Chinese holidays. A lot of construction work was going on during my visit to extend the market area with old looks.

Over 100 yuan during the day; apparently free after sundown, but they don't tell you that at the ticket counter.

The whole town is one big alley of tiny streets and waterways. It is so picturesque but so easy to get lost. You will need a map.

街中に小川が沢山あり、麗江あるいは中国の絶景の一典型になっています。小川に沿って古い建物と柳が続いています。There are many streams in the city, and it is one of the most spectacular views of Lijiang or China. There are old buildings and willows along the stream.

You can see why this has been nominated as a World Heritage site. Interesting buildings line the narrow streets with a river with clear clean water running through the town. Definitely worth a wander through.

Sorry - I traveled with a private guide and didn't use hotels with buffets or breakfast. Our guide sent us to small local restaurants for breakfast that generally were about 5 yuan for noodle soup and tea.
