OK, it might be easy to get lost in the Ancient Town, but it's a delightful place to wander even if you are lost. Be sure to visit the market, where there are all kinds of vegetables you've never seen before! Say "Ah La La...More

My wife and I stayed in old town and wandered around all day, when we went back out that evening it was very crowded. Weekends are worse. There are some great shops and awesome places to see, just do it early!

This is a huge place which is supposed to replicate the original old town. Like what other reviewers said, it's a bit over commercialised but i do find some little corners, the streams and the inns quite nicely designed and fun place to spend some...More

An ancient town selling mostly the same thing. Morning, it's quite ( non peak season ). Night, it's crowded. The things selling are quite expensive. It's big and can just strolling around for taking pictures. Beware of the local people who keep following behind you...More

When we arrived in this town we felt it was amazing, in fact we still do, but felt that the “traditional elements” were fake. So when you see someone making something like weaving clothing etc it’s fake. I have no idea why they need so...More

Besides the beautiful buildings and small streets this is way too touristic. The center is all with souvenirs shops selling all the same and restaurants with very loud unprofessional live music. They try to get you by putting a big speaker on the street hope...More

Beautiful Unesco Site, magical. it's a pity that chinese authorities sent all the résidents out of the old town and made it a major touristic attraction with souvenir shops everywhere.

You can find the traditional Chinese food here plus very special dish which rarely to find in other part of China, Yak meat. I tried Yak meat noodle and it’s good. Also recommend the assorted chicken wings, so yummy

We had an excellent lady Mrs. Li, English speaking from the local Naxi University. She has a driver also. It is not a travel agency. You can find her in the square near the water wheel.
