We visited the Birmingham Zoo last October. The feel we got was that this zoo is on the rise. Many of the animal habitats have been or are being updated. They are moving towards a much more open and expansive habitat approach. It cannot happen...More

It is always "under construction", and not many animals in this zoo. It does have a great elephant and giraffe exibit, but all the other sites for animals is dilapidated and terrible. I won't be going back for a long time!

For the size of the zoo it has a good variety of animals and birds. I recommend feeding the giraffes and riding the camel. A must on your list of activities should be to feed the lorikeets. The kids will love it here.

Parking was easy and lots of volunteers to help you get tickets and talk about the lights. The train ride was cold but fun. They even have accommodations for handicapped. Only addition I’d make would be a recoding or guide explaining the scenes

Our first time in Birmingham and we wanted to visit the zoo. It was a nice zoo but it was chilly so some of the animals weren’t out.

I have taken my two young children to the zoo twice and both times they love it! They have a lot of animals to see as well as a train that you can pay extra to ride on. Very fun for kids!

No. It's not a long ride. It's just enough and it's very fun for the kids and adults too!
