Unfortunately this zoo needs much more space. I was very unimpressed with the train they promote because you can’t see the habitats during the ride so there is no purpose. The cost was low and they provide student and veteran discounts which are great. Perhaps...More

The Birmingham Zoo has definitely changed since I was a kid. I understand that they are trying to improve the facilities but they are trying to stick with what appeared to be a main theme which happens to be more African savannah based. Thats wonderful...More

Great plan for the weekend, specially if you have kids. Few weeks before Haloween they decorate the place and set a trick or treat walk. We loved it!

Nothing special just a typical zoo. Neat area of Birmingham to visit after the zoo as well. Only took about 2 or 3 hours. Family day was nice for lower priced tickets and food.

When our two granddaughters, ages 5 and 8, came to visit from Chicago, they both asked to visit the Birmingham Zoo. They had a wonderful time touring the African Safari region and feeding a giraffe. They loved the primates and big cats but really fell...More

We've had the annual family membership for the last three years, and it has been worth it. Paid for itself within two or three visits, plus it gives discounts toward specialized activities, which help during certain events such as the Christmas and Halloween specials the...More

Lots of animals and the park was clean, except the front bathrooms by the splash pad. It was nice to have some air conditioned buildings to get out of the heat! Disappointed that the worker pulled the chain to close off the Sea Lion show...More
