Magical and mysterious...Kakku is all of that. Stand at the parking lot and gaze at the cluster of hundreds of pagodas in the distance. Then walk up and in and around this maze. Most of the pagodas are fairly well maintained. They are intricate in...More

This place requires about 1.5 to 2 hours driving from Inle Lake, and has similar pagoda structures as those of InDein Pagodas. Because of the distance, when we planned our tour, we struggled on whether to go or not , but we were glad that...More

The road was busy leaving Niaungshwe in direction of the spectacularly situated hill town of Taunggy. Then, leaving the lively Shan capital behind, the road dips into a long valley running parallel to Inle lake separated from it by a mountain ridge. It traverses rural...More

Unfortunately you can only go there by taxi, since you need a registered guide as well. I was there on a budget too, and I found 2 people to share the taxi and than it's okay. And it is totally worth it!!
