Nice, spacious, bright and clean mall
Mar 2018
I have visited the Iguatemi Esplanada in Sorocaba several times and have found many wonderful items to bring home for myself and for gifts. My main shops include the Havaianas store (fun sales people, good selection of Havaianas and charms), L'Occitane Brasil (fabulous products, packaging and scents) and O
Botanico (skincare, body care - made in Brasil). There are also nice jewelry shops and clothing stores. The food court is a typical mall food court - lots of choices and decent, not stellar, food. I always make a point of stopping by this mall to pick up a few Brazilian items for myself and for my family / friends.

Tolerable at best.

Sorocaba is a city with many shopping malls, and if this is best, well, the rest must not be very good. It's big - too big, actually, to the point that it's easy to get lost - and some areas are entirely dead because there just isn't enough of a crowd of even stores in those corners. This is also the location of the worst Starbucks in History - my white mocha was absolutely unacceptable despite it being such a simple drink. Likewise, all food options vary between inedible and mediocre, so I recommend you not to stray too far from known and tried franchises, which despite being a little worse than other units, at least still try to keep a standard. The only exception is the brownie stand that is not located in the food court - that is about the only good place to eat, but they are limited to desserts.
I noticed that some of the famous Brazilian brands that have shops there also charge a little more than the actual price found online or in other shops of that brand. Selection is shops is also very limited. In the bookstore near the entrance you can find almost anything but the book you're looking for, unless that has recently been in some top 10 best-seller list. If you are looking for cosmetics, beware also - there are only 2 stores of the sort, MAC and The Beauty Box. The Beauty Box comes in a very limited format, without the big brand names available in other units. The best you'll find there is Bourjois, so don't go hoping for Dior or even Clinique - they just don't have it.
The cinema is expensive, the seats are tiny and uncomfortable, and it gets really crowded and noisy in the weekends. While the screen and sound are the best in town, the crowd noise and bad seats ruin the experience. The movie selection is also quite poor - only boring blockbusters and boring blockbusters only. Fine for you, if you want to catch the latest super hero movie, but if you're looking for a less popular title, no luck here.
Like the mall itself, the parking lot is huge and super easy to get lost in. There's no QR code location system either, so good luck to you, in case you can't find a spot near the elevators.
Personally, I just do my best to steer clear, but should you decide to check it out, make sure to allocate enough time that allows to walk through the huge parking lot and malls, until you find whatever you're looking for.
