The first thing to notice about it is the wonderful monument right on the square. It is called "Immortal Glory to the Founders of São Paulo" and it is great to behold, certainly one of the most impressive, and my personal favorite, in the city....More

This is where Sao Paulo was founded and it is a nice area (cleaner than others, less hectic), near Solar da Marquesa and the Banespa building where you can see the entire city from the top. The church is fairly modern for such an old...More

Interesting to see where the city started. The museum is very nice and the church next to it, is stunning. There is a nice cafe and you can have lunch there. Good food and nice desserts with coffee afterwards.

This was a peaceful haven in a city of hustle and bustle. The decor inside was simple and uncomplicated. It was a Spirit filled Church built 1554. Well worth a visit if you like to go into Churches.

It is a pity there are so many "weird people" in this area of the city. But once you get inside the Pateo do Collegio, you can enjoy yourself and relax. Their "guava and cheese" mousse is amazing (the milk candy one, too) and you...More

To truly know São Paulo, you have to start at the old
centre, full of history and landmarks with stories to
tell. Get a taste of local food at the Municipal
Market, and if you are brave enough, head to the
crowded shopping street “25 de março” for cheap deals
on a wide assortment of items. Beautiful buildings in
this area include the Post Office Building, Luz
Station, Pagé Gallery, Pateo do Colegio and the iconic
