It is a spiritual place. Recommended for religious people and garden lovers. One hour is enough to know the place. If you visit in the afternoon you can hear the wonderful chorus of Gregorian chanta.

It's a good place to go at the end of the day. There isn't many things to see in the place, but the Praying with Gregorian Choir at the dusk it's beautiful and touching.

Monastery is under construction / renovation. Peaceful site. Gregorian chants daily at 5:45pm. Not a tourist site, but rather a place of religious worship.

It's a quiet place, where you can visit the shop, coffee and the chapel. The sisters sell breads, coffees and small gifts. At the end of the day you can listen the sister signing. You can do everything in less than an hour.

It's worth visiting if you are religious, as it is an spiritual place, with a beautiful chapel and moments of pray with the monjas (it is worth to attent the canto gregoriano moment, at 17:45). There is a small shop and the products made by the monjas are delicious. Nature is beautiful.

If you wanna stay in a peaceful place, with a beautiful scenery, gardens, lake, and on Saturday morning when I visited, I attended the Mass, and the mums sang gregorian songs...wow...amazing...I´ve heard they have a crafts store but we did not visit in the occasion.

A simple catholic church with a neat, clean and organized yard. Other than this, nothing see or to do.

A very quiet place for peace. If you like Gregorian chant go in the afternoon, they begin exactly 16:45 (no entrance after that). Good to talk to the nuns too!

The Monastery of St. Joseph (São João) is a neat, peaceful place. Not a tourist attraction, really. You can walk around the grounds and the garden, shop bread, pastries, jams and handicraft made by the nuns, visit the chapel and listen to their Gregorian chants. 15-30 minutes is enough.
However, you can also take up a room. Accommodations are not large, but enough to fit two single beds in (no double beds available). No TV in the rooms, but there is a large living room for collective use, with a TV). Good, hot shower. Breakfast and lunch included in the price. An interesting way to escape, at least for a few days, from the day-to-day stress.
