Great local market with a wide variety of products. I bought very good produce but the market also had a lot of spices, meats, cheeses and fish

It's a "must to do" if you want to know the soul of Campinas. The traditional ingredients of brazilian food are there. All products are fresh and most of them in good prices. You can also, share there a breakfast, lunch or drink testing the Campinas soul.

His market, has reached its centennial year in 2008. Designed by the famous architect Ramos de Azevedo, is the oldest "mall" in town. There you can find ingredients for the traditional feijoada as well as other not so usual items.

Unfortunately, we could not visit it, for in July 2024, it was under renovation. It is located in a hectic area of the center of Campinas, and as expected there are a lot of shops around.

I love markets, as they tell a lot about a society. This Market Hall is fairly big and you find pretty much everything for daily needs. Butchers, Fish stands, fruits and vegetables, leather goods you name it.
What I found quite disturbing were the stands selling folding knifes that also had coshs on display (... these things are illegal pretty much anywhere else). Around the maket Hall you find African-Brazilian stores and also places where you’d find counterfeit Football shirts etc.

The best place in Campinas to find all kind of fruit, vegetables, spice and food. It offers a great atmosphere. You must visit "Bar do Rafa" there to have good beers and food.

It’s a nice architectural building, great for shopping groceries and uncommon items, but not exactly interesting other than that. Still, a good place to go.

This market is in an historic building and is very nicely maintained. It sells all sorts of things, from samurai swords (mad in Brazil, of course) to special spices. Besides thing normal markets have: vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, cheeses and butter - that sort of thing. It is a nice place (albeit a bit crowded) to stroll in, with lots of chances for good photos.
