Not as happening as Ipanema or Copacabana, but definitely more safe. Spent a lot of time lounging on the beach during my visit. Good vibes, friendly people, music at the different restaurants, bars, and vendors along the beach. There is always an area in the...More

Great Place in the heart of Barra Da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. Most charming island of Barra surrounded by lots of wild life. Great place for tranquillity, you hear only birds during the day. All rooms have TV, minibar, AC, hot shower and private bathrooms....More

Very clean beach, nowhere near the crowds as the others but places to eat and drink along the beach boulevard at either ends.

It must be the most magnificent beach anywhere stretching for 20 kilometres readily accessible with 8 kilometres of cycle track and cafes littering the beach edge. The Atlantic breeze cools the beach in August when we visit and the cafes afford decently prized drinks and...More

Not as famous as Copacabana and Ipanema, Barra da Tijuca has the best beach in Rio. More than 20km long, it's perfect to relax, for swimming and surfing.

Not at all behind any of the more famous beaches of the area, but less crowded and less burdened by the bustle and hustle that you can find around Copacabana.

Beautiful , clean golden sandy beach. Be careful if you go in the sea, as the Rio currents are very strong. Lots of beach bars. 8km of safe cycle paths adjacent to the beach. Much quieter and less touristy than Copacabana. Quite a few sellers...More

This is a great beach with beautiful sand. We enjoyed both getting some vitamin D, bathing as well as taking a good run next to beach.

It's a beautiful large sandy beach where many people relaxed and swam. It was clean and inviting. We were there in February at the end of carnival.
