Petropolis has many lovely buildings. This palace is pretty from the outside but somewhat plain inside. Interesting that it is still used as a sum residence for the country's leaders.

Less than an hour from Rio is the "Imperial City" of Petropolis, the summer home of the Brazilian emperor and his family. The museum offers a peek back into history to see how the royal family lived.

It is a nice building from the Brazil colony, but there is nothing else to do, it is not a museum or anything, but is next to the Brazilian Expeditionary Force museum!

Really liked this. Certainly not nearly the amount of treasures as within the Museo Imperial but this gave it a more relaxed welcoming feel for the visit. Originally a private house, then the seat of state government, it has had the honour of hosting visits...More

It's a great palace from outside! I didn't have the opportunity to go inside, but seems to be very imponent. The presidents of Brazil always go there.
