This is a great place if you like fascinating history, architecture, and shopping. This is all mixed in with plenty of local colour, boats, music and great little restaurants. There is even a cinema and an upmarket bookshop. All pedestrianised - the cobbles would kill...More

Paraty is a little off the beaten path, but it's so worth discovering. Not a whole lot to do, other than amble and admire the absolute charm and delight of the colourful old town. Really somewhere very special.

The city is an amazing example of colonial architecture. It felt like we had gone through a time machine. But you need to make sure that you wear good, solid shoes because the streets are very difficult to walk on.
