With metro, free trolley service, water taxi to Washington, DC or National Habour, Maryland, numerous restaurants and shops, this is the place you want to live in, not only visit.

Old Town Alexandria is very walkable and filled with great restaurants and boutique shops. A great place to spend a summer evening exploring. I try to at least drive all my out-of-town visitors through Old Town.

Old Town is expanding the Waterfront. Walk north and you find Oronoco Park area. Stroll this area. Watch the boats. Read about and see an old Canal lock. Check the town’s events. This is an area to get away from the crowds for awhile.

We saw a couple of parking lots but were bused in. Sorry I know that’s not a lot of help. We also saw lots of cars parked on the streets.
