Regardless of the reason for the historical significance, the architecture of this place is well worth visiting. My wife's 90 year old aunt, however, grew up and passed by here and interacted with one of the owners. As a result, we enjoyed a unique tour...More

Very informative and reasonably priced guided tour. Free parking. Although the website indicated that the Mansion would be open for Saturday tours, when we arrived it appeared that the Mansion was not open (door locked, no one to be seen). We called the information number...More

This house offers a look back into the past of not only Abbeville, but America. The war between the states ended here on May 2, 1865.

Oh, if the walls could talk. We were mesmerized by history that just poured out of the walls of this magnificent building. I would have loved to have been a visitor when Jefferson Davis stayed here. Highly Recommended

We were not able to tour the inside as it is open only a limited time on certain days, but this house and others in town are part of a historic tour

Abbeville is full of history and so is this house! We had a group of adults/teenagers touring this building with us and everyone enjoyed it! Staff was also friendly and informative!

The docents are local and full of knowledge of everything to do with this property. Some very impressive rooms and collectables. If your there in Abbeville, go there. Tour only takes about a 1/2 hour.

Twenty-two of our church members spent an hour and a half with David, our enthusiastic and well-informed docent, touring the mansion. History did come alive as David told us stories about the people who had lived their lives here. Besides the historical significance of Jefferson...More

The Burt-Stark Museum house is a lovely Southern mansion, which would make it worth a visit in itself. However, even more important than its beauty is its historical impact: After the fall of the Confederate capital of Richmond, the Confederate government fled, with the idea...More
