    Coconut Heaven
Very interesting to visit a Tropical Botanical Garden. Obviously Green was the dominant colour but a good variety of palms and plants endemic to the Seychelles and a pleasant place to stroll around on a hot & humid day. The story behind the Coco-de-mer had some adults tittering but don't get hit in the head by one! The addition of the Aldabra Giant Tortoises was a bonus to view. The schoolkids loved the inter action feeding the tortoises but their bite can be painful!!

I along with my wife n son visited this beautiful garden. It has so many plants and you can feel the typical smell of each plant. A lot many variety of palms and plants of Seychelles area You will also find Aldabra Giants Tortoise in the garden and few tourists were trying to feed them too. It has a nice cafe to enjoy with drinks n snacks. Tickets for tourists are very high which is 250 SCR per head.

    Tortoise trove visit
We bought the tickets on line weeks before arrival by ship. The hike from the pier was OK but hot and humid. The park is beautiful. These 5 acres are almost right in town. We went to visit the Aldabra tortoises. They were amazing, genial giants. Now I have seen both of the giant species. The greenery at the park is fantastic too. There was a nice little patio cafe for a cold drink. The bathroom was clean and nice. Go early to beat the heat. Don't miss it.

    Giant attraction
Small in comparison to other Botanical gardens but the have great palms and amazing giant tortoise compound. Our guide was really knowledgeable and as it was Sunday we could hear the singing form a near by church. A truly amazing visit. Suitable for all ages some steps and up hill walking.

Visited with a guide.

We thought the gardens were really pretty, and a surprise being so close to the capital!

I think we may have struggled knowing about everything without our guide talking us through everything.

The tickets were super pricey.
Right behind the spices and scent garden there is plastic laying everywhere around (bottles, rubber gloves, snickers wrappings etc..).
The geese have a 50x50 cm pond where they are bathing in 4 at the same time.. hmm
Lots of dry plants , chopped off, or fallen off are just laying around in the middle of the paths - don’t know if they don’t clean it up to keep it „natural“.
Highlight was obviously the turtles.

It's just too expensive for what you get. 250 scr or 35€ per person is pricy for what they offer. The gigant turtles are the highlight. The garden is compact and not really much to see. In the fact that you can make your own hiking tour all over the mahe, you can skip the botanic garden.

Good collection of endemic and international plants. Many flowers could be observed the first of May.
Male and female coco de mer (Kokodmer) can be found throughout the park with the prominent smell of cooked rice (some say: fresh popcorn) hinting the male palm is close by.

Turtoises can be fed with fresh cuttings. We'd recommend to take a semi-hidden path from the tortoises right upwards to the old specimen tree area: many fruitbats hang there, and the highest trees we've ever seen grow beautifully.

The Thai and Chinese garden sections were not particularly special: a true focus or thematic presentation of plants was unclear. Also, >50% of the name tags are still missing. You can walk freely through the park, with no clear routes.

The botanical garden was open on labour day (public holiday), but the café was closed unfortunately.
