This review is specific to JR’s (Japan Railways) practices when it comes to returning lost or forgotten items. The rest of its services are beyond satisfactory but when it comes to getting one’s lost/forgotten luggage back they are terrible. If I could rate JR’s luggage...More

The organisation is outstanding and the quality of every aspect is near perfect. The trains run on time, are clean, quiet and the trip is amazingly smooth. A true example for every other train service to aspire to.

One of my favorite ways to travel. We took the train from Odawara to Kyoto. Clean, quiet, so much leg space and you can turn the seat the other direction.

Speedy, quiet and efficient train ride. Views of rice paddies, lotus farms. Better experience than catching the plane.

Carry-on luggage size baggage will fit overhead. But anything larger, you'll have to put your bags usually behind the last row or first row of seating, or in a designated spot, which you have to ask one of the staff to help... More

Indeed, you can do Shinagawa-Nagoya as a two day trip. However JR will treat each leg as a separate journey and tickets will be issued as such. You can even do the trip in less than a day, if you wish. A limited-stop... More
