This large park surrounds Osaka Castle and is great for strolling. Enjoy the views and watch for special events in the park. The day I was there, I saw a Thai Festival.

We've seen lots of impressive sites in Japan the last couple of weeks - temples, shrines, castles, etc. Osaka Castle is surely one of my favorites. It's not until you walk all the way inside to the base of the castle that you realize how...More

I was actually visiting Osaka Castle, so the park was basically required in order to get to the castle. It is worth setting aside a little extra time during your castle visit just to stroll around the park for a while. I was there on...More

We were there on 19th June , we walked to the entrance from Mironomiya subway and it is about 15 mins walk. We visited the rebuilt castle, suggest to climb stairs rather than queueing up for lifts. Lots of great historical displays about Hideyoshi who...More

I would skip this famous castle for a UNESCO one. But it is still worth a visit if it's your first visit to Osaka. Alight at Osaka Business Park station and make a leisurely scenic walk in.

The grounds of the Castle are beautiful and the Castle itself from the outside also beautiful but the inside - it is almost criminal what they have done; it is a museum but in modern day building and not great at that, almost claustrophobic in...More

Anytime from April through to June as far as the weather goes. Timing wise, early in the morning is less crowded so I would aim to get there around opening time to mid-day.
