The sheer size of it alone dominating the square is impressive. It faces the Hermitage Museum's back entrance so one can visit the museum and then enjoy the outdoors by strolling along the square. Must see when in St. Petersburg.

What a great place, and I mean great. Lots of floors of amazing art. We just chose one floor, the main impressionist and post impressionist floor and spent 2.5 hours there. Could have easily visited another day if we had the time.

1500 and what a great time to come. Quiet, near empty galleries and an amazing collection, especially the Impressionist paintings. Staff weren't as friendly as the main Palace building but the staff in the cafe were brilliant and the food excellent. Don't miss it.

We went up several flights of stairs to get to it. I don’t recall what floor but I used the map they give you as a reference. The impressionist exhibit was worth the visit. They had virtual reality history tour in the main lobby when you get in. If it is still available, I would recommend it.
