On the 8th of June in 2012 the national show-museum «Grand Maket Rossiya» opened its doors hospitably for the wide auditory. By this time, thousands of citizens and quests of our city watched this unique exhibition. On the layout area of 800 square meters you will see the generalized images of cities and regions of Russia. Hundreds of moving trains and cars, sound and light effects add dynamics to the exposition and thousands of tiny figures make the genre scenes. Add the astonishing effect of day and night changing doesn`t leave a single visitors indifferent.

We took the metro from Nevsky Prospect and then walked about 10min to reach the museum. You are not allowed to take a large bag or backpack inside but there is a closet room or individual lockers free of charge. I honestly did not expect...More

This is a special museum, fun and educational, I found more local people and not as many tourists. we took many pictures since every detail/model is so cool. After visiting the museum visit, they are considerate to have charging stations downstairs..

Very impressive model, giving the impression of a "normal" country with a mix of leisure activities, industries, life in the countryside/towns/cities on display. Captures the geographical diversity very well too.

My husband and I did the audio guide and learned quite a bit about Russian geography, industry, and how the made all those cool miniatures! Plan on 2 hours if you’re doing the guide. Great bathrooms, cafeteria etc

A huge crowd of mostly families with children mobbinga big model-train landscape of parts of Russia. Obviously made with great skill, but not my idea of fun, and pricey too for adults.

This place is awesome, hands down. But when people starts to compare it with the museum in Germany or praise to the sky my expectations just skyrocketed. Trust me, this place is really good and you could see that the people behind it put in...More

One of my highlights in St Petersburg was visiting this mini-Russia world where you get a glimpse of the whole country in one room. It has day/night cycle and there are countless interactive 'events' which left me mesmerised. I highly recommend visiting this place!

Great exhibition for tourists and not only for them. The natives may also find it entertaining a lot! The lights, the gags, the buttons for sounds and moving trains, cars and so on... you should plan to stay there for at least an hour to...More
