This most beautiful building and museum really lives up to the hype. Once you are inside it is difficult to say where the Winter Palace ends and the Hermitage begins but as they are both breathtakingly attractive it doesn't really matter. A tip for those of you on cruise visa exception excursions i.e. where you have to be on an... More

One of the greatest and most beautiful museum in the world. Too big to be visited in one day, need to come back.

What a beautiful unique and colorful building! Just staring at it from the Hydrofoil ride made me so high and appreciative of such a beauty!

This museum was included in our SPB two day deluxe tour of St. Petersburg. We were do glad to be a part of small group guided tour as any effort to tour on your own would be nearly impossible. The Hermitage exceeded our expectations.

We had very little time in Saint Petersburg so could not, unfortunately, enjoy the exhaustive art collection. However, we did spend ample time in the state rooms. The opulence and splendor are incomparable and just that experience alone was worth the visit.

First of all, prices. 700 rubles per person for general admission. WTF? Then, their system of selling tickets. It just doesn't work! Terminals are not properly tested, giving errors all the time and totally non user friendly. The whole entrance procedure is a mess, and don't be surprised if staff or guards will shout on you... They have lots of... More

We had an afternoon at the Hermitage, there was so much to see that you needed a lot more time. I will certainly go again if I have another trip to St.Petersburg

The Hermitage Museum and Winter Palace are so beautiful it makes you gasp and takes your breath away. I was on a guided tour with an excellent guide and head phones to explain some of the paintings and rooms. Beware of pickpockets as one guy in our group got robbed just walking across the road. Very busy but unforgettable memories.... More

Beautiful building with countless works of art. Exhibits from many cultures, artifacts that represent almost all movements and many "well known" pieces.

We had a wonderful private guided tour around the Hermitage which avoided the awful large, shepherded groups. 20,000 people a day visit the Hermitage so if you don't like crowds, pick your time to visit (i.e. early or late!) There is so much to see there and so much history. Having (an older) private guide with experience really brought the... More
