We purchased tickets to see performance of Cinderella thriugh our hotel and tickets were delivered the next day. The theatre itself is a little run down, but this adds to the character and you get a feel of the history of the place. The performance...More

Across the street from the Mariinsky Theatre is a music school known as the St. Petersburg Conservatoire, which is a ballet and music school. The building, built in the 1890s, is showing its age. They have remodeled and rebuilt many of the fine old buildings...More

The building is very tired. It desperately needs painting and a general clean up. It has a great location and the ballet was fine but as a location to visit for the architecture this is not a recommend.

Swan Lake is the ballet for the summer of 2014, no matter which venue you attend. The performance that we saw ($99 per person--SPB tours, row 20, fairly decent seats--transportation from the ship included in price) was better than adequate, but not quite at the...More

Front row seats for AU$50 what a treat. Russians love their ballet and many in the audience will know the performers. Cheer for a good performance as required, such fun. Check out the orchestra in the pit during interval, everyone else will. Hang out in...More

The place is located just opposite of Mariinsky Theater so it's easy to find. Shows here are quite high quality but without the "bourgeois" attitude of the guests as in the opposite theater. For tickets, just search for schedules online before your trip and purchase...More

These young college aged students of Ballet were amazing and could give Milwaukee Ballet a run for their money. The Stage Orchestra was as good as some Symphony Orchestras here in Southeastern Wisconsin. The Conservatory itself was old and still showing signs of the Communist...More

We got tickets via our tour group leader and the price and seats were good, for the performance of Eugene Onegin. The venue is 20 mins walk from the closest metro station. It was my first classic opera and even though I don't speak Russian...More

Really well worth getting tickets online before you go. These tickets are are less expensive. We managed to get a front row seat! Loved the scenery and the costumes - my first ballet experience and I was blown away!
