Here you have a glimps of how the olden villages looked like. A good look into the old houses and how it was build with wood. Unbelievable to think you have to live in this houses in winter.

It'll probably be nice after the renovation, but at the moment not a single church is accessible, and big parts of the park are off-limits. There are still 10-15 wooden houses to visit, but once you've seen a few, they all start to look similar....More

Unfortunately when we visited the Museum at least half of the compound was not accessible due to restauration.

Nice museum situated in idyllic setting. Many old houses, buildings and churches to visit. Combione with a trip to St. George Monastery which is about a 10 minute walk down the road, Easily reachable on city Bus route 7A from Veliky Novgorod.

About 90% under restoration including the main attraction the largest structure. A church. A big disappointment but the few places five or six are really great. Don't don't know if I would waste the time or money as an independent traveler to do it again....More
