This is a fixture in the peaceful Alexander Garden. While a beautiful obelisk, it is significant because of its dedication to the Romanov family. The names were removed during the days of communism but have since been replaced.
You will see this obelisk many times as your transportation to and fro kremlin will pass by this monument. I happened to have a closer look during the stroll in the park. Erected in the memory of the house of Romanovs.

This Roman obelisk provides a bit of a contrast to the other monuments you'll see in the Alexander Gardens. Instead of the regular bronze statue this is an obelisk which is dedicated to the Romanovs. Interesting to have a quick look.
One of the interesting monuments to see at the Alexander Garden in Moscow is the Romanov Obelisk near the Grotto and Monument to Patriarch Hermogenes.
