Nothing extra

The сhurch of St. Tryphon in Naprudnoe is the most interesting architectural object and the most important monument of ancient architecture in the capital, since it is almost the only surviving and the oldest Russian Ccurch of the XV-th century outside the borders of the Moscow Kremlin, excluding the Spassky Cathedral of the Andronikov monastery.
Its story is curious and mysterious. Riddles is the very appearance of this church as an architectural structure, the name of the architect who built it, as well as applied innovative construction techniques for those times. It was one of the first stone churches of the Posad type with a pillarless structure and a cross vault. White stone. Nothing extra. Only strict, almost ideal proportions. No color walls or exquisite decors. Typical for old Russian architecture.
By the way, the figure of the Martyr Tryphon, to whom the temple is dedicated, is also mysterious in many ways. It is known that in Catholicism it is similar to St. Valentine, whose day is now celebrated as Valentine's day.

Very nice historical church

This very small but very cute Orthodox Church was founded in the XV century and while surrounded by very forgettable buildings, it is situated in the middle of a very pleasant small park. The church and the surrounding small construction made of wood paint a very relaxed and lovely setting and the Church itself is very nice and full of history. If you are around in a ice day it is worth the visit

St.Tryphon of Pechenga churchSt.Tryphon of Pechenga church

St.Tryphon church is one of the earliest buildings surviving to our days in Moscow - built year 1492, about the same time as the Assumption Cathedral in the Kremlin - and definitely one of my
favourite. Appreciate the laconic style! It looks as if it rises directly from the soil. It is very progressive for its
time, the first example of the cross vault in Moscow.
You can enter the church, but taking pictures is not advised – as usual with the Orthodox churches.
