Beautiful and unique manor house, grounds/gardens and outer buildings- it is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Under restoration (not terrible but disappointing)

We are leaving for a tour of Russia in a few days and we have just been informed that the planned visit to Kuscovo has been cancelled because of undergoing restoration work to the residence, which started on 15/07/2019. It's not clear if it is actually closed or if visits are compromised by the work. Maybe better to find out before visiting.

Charismatic and captivating!

One of the favourite retreats of the noted Sheremetyev family, this is a wonderful example of 18th century Russian architecture.

The park is wonderful, especially in winter. I approached it from the Ryazanski Prospekt side, which allows me to approach the palace from the far side of the park. In the snow, it is beautiful, but in the summer, spring and early autumn, I can only imagine that the colours would look magical.

The palace itself has a wonderfully preserved interior, and the church, pavilion, and greenhouses are also prefectly preserved. WIth only two others in the grounds it was an almost eerie experience, but highly enjoyable.

Getting there is not an issue. Take the metro to Ryazansky Prospekt, and then walk to the overground train station, under the flyover. Use the underpass and then walk alongside the flyover, where the park entrance will be on the left. In temperatures of -20, this is a good workout, and in the summer, you'll find many others enjoying the sights, sounds, colours and wildlife of this wonderful place.

Do make sure you take your own supplies though, as Kuskovo has no cafe on site in the winter.

If you want to feel old-fashioned Moscow, you need to come here. It doesn't matter when you come. Even in winter it has beauty. All museums are opened. However bear in mind they might close early.

A hidden jewel
Aug 2018 • Friends
The property belonged to the Seheremtyev family and has a huge park, ponds and buildings in different styles, some of them being restored presently. The main building was the family summer place, where Catherine the Great used to go and visit. The ball room is used for concerts and they have one of the most amizaing porcelain collection, displayed in two orangeries. It is alwayz a pleasure to return to this place, eitheir to visit the house or to strool in the park, where families with children go for the day.

Beautiful park and lake

Only 50 rubles to enter the grounds - definitely worth taking a picnic with you.

The rowing boats are great fun and the water is clean and clear.

Unfortunately, I was not so impressed with viewing the inside of the palace, orangery and other buildings etc. My recommendation is to save the additional 700 rubles for the boats and enjoy the buildings from the outside.

Look it is an estate with history on its side the manor house or mansion is worth a visit.
The park well not Moscow's best the lake and surrounds are good for sun worshippers.

Yes it is a bit of a walk to get there but well worth it.

I went with a Russian so it was a bit easier.

One of jewels in a crown of estates around the Moscow
Jun 2018 • Friends
This place once belonged to one of the riches aristocratic families in Russia. The owners of estate had an unlimited resources to make their dwelling as fancy and beautiful as their hearts desired. The house, it's surroundings and fancy things inside are definitely not to be missed. The Sheremetevs (owners) were also one of the few families that owned slave artists and actors to perform in their theater. Many examples of their artwork still hangs there. It is also a place of one of the major social scandals in Russian history. In short, this place has everything: beauty, history and drama.

A wonderful day to take you back a century or two

The American Chamber of Commerce did several July 4th celebrations at this location. We have visited many times during the last 18 years. Walk through and visit each of the different buildings. Take the tour inside the mansion. Lovely architecture and gardens.
