The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Arbat
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.

Concerts are OK, the place is horrible

The cafe is closed. If you are meeting up with a friend before a concert and want to have a coffee before, you have to plan your other restaurants and cafes around Arbat. The cloakroom is terrible: you cannot see the numbers before you queue after a performance as it's very far away (starting at the stairs) and super crowded. Yesz there's a lift. A very small one. I finally managed to pay by card for the concert I wanted, as this particular performer used to be only for cash and at the ticket office, so do match their physical ads to what they offer online. Very strange. Besides, there is only one restroom (on the ground floor, out of 3) with about 7 toilets for ladies and one restroom for gents. For the whole audience. The waiting line for gals is... Long... For such a small theatre...Oh, and the local staff have no idea how to say excuse me and thank you when getting thru the crowd. A place of culture, huh?
