We watched a great evening of traditional Russian folk dancing. It was brilliant the way the woman move it is like they float and not walk. I was busy pleasantly surprised. And the venue was outstanding.

Went there around Christmas time to watch the Igor Mosseyev folk dancers. Bought our tickets online as there were only 5 tickets still available a month before!
Be aware that you will need a Russian phone number (I used my guide's) for the theater to send you a code to finalize your reservation (my guide sent it through WhatsApp). May be your concierge would be able to do it for you.
The concert hall is well thought out, with comfortable seats, and good accoustics.
Photographs and videos are forbidden but everybody does it, without flash of course.
Very easily reachable by metro.
If you haven't had time to eat before going to this theatre, be aware that they have a great choice of food of good quality (I had the best panna cotta ever, with tiny wild strawberries, along with Prosecco, but they also have fine sandwiches, little Russian buns stuffed with mushrooms, or apples, etc, etc). Intermission seems to be a big thing in Russia with everyone rushing to have snacks and drinks!

Outstanding performance
Nov 2013 • Solo
Unlike some of Moscow's major musical venues such as the Bolshoy, tickets for the Moscow Philharmonic are generally available a few days prior to the performance. I had checked out getting tickets online prior to leaving for Russia and found that prices were roughly triple what they were at the box office. I saw an unusually good and uniquely programmed concert of "Six pieces for cello with six cellists" The variety between traditional pieces by Hayden and Tsaichovsky and a couple of brilliant contemporary works, one of which was performed by the composer another with the composer in the house was unusually engaging. Caliber of play was excellant, acoustics also excellant. Tickets ranged from 500 to 1100 RUB., I couldn't have been more pleased with my 700 RUB seat first row mezzanine. Clerks at the ticket booth speak rudimentary English and do not steer foreigners to the highest priced seats.

The best classic music hall in Moscow
When in Moscow try to get tickets to Philarmonic hall and you'll get a chance to listen to the world famous National Russian Orchestra directed by prominent and the best russian conductor - Mr Pletnev! Or you can catch other aither russian or foreign chorus, orchestra, opera singers, pianists, organists, etc.
And if you are lucky enought and love russian poetry you will come here to listen to poems from Pushkin to contemporary authors which are read by genius russian actress Tatyana Doronina - it will your best experience ever!
