The monastery was impressive, small but very interesting! It is a unesco heritage site. I advise to look for a guide, maybe one of the nouns, to explain the paintings.

If the blue of Voronet is so known, the red of Humor church is less. It it UNESCO heritage, though. This is my favorite representation of the soul's fate at the entrance. There is also a nice tower to climb up to.

If you do not know that this gem exists, you might drive by just a few kilometers from it an miss an impressive landmark in a beautiful setting. This monastery gives a lot of insight into orthodox culture and traditions.

The chances are that you have travelled to Gura to see the monasteries and you will not be disapointed with them (two are easily accessible from the town). Take time to pause and take in the serenity of the place.

Another lovely monastery and certainly well worth a visit. Interesting frescoes and garden. Amazing architecture. Take time to admire the beautiful roofs. Makes one wonder how man can create such lovely flowing curves with natural materials.
