We visited the Paraguayan side of the Itaipu Dam, which unlike the Brazilian side, is free to visit, including the bus tour. It is fascinating and well worth an hour or so of your life!

The dam of Itaipu is amazing. The Paraguay side offers free tours along the dam. It is in Spanish, but totally worth going. It is easily reachable by public transport.

What truely remarkable place. 100% worth visiting. Remember to “check in” at the reception to get a number for the tour busses. Dogs not allowed. Free of charge

Very cool to see. The tour is free and kid friendly. The tour was in Spanish, we had a friend translate for us.

...no one at the visitor's center knows about a free tour 45-minute long; the panoramic-tour is 36-real.
