Our destination in Walvis Bay was the shallow and sheltered lagoon just southwest of town and west of the mouth of the Kuiseb River. It is here that one finds flocks of both the lesser and greater flamingos. Our guide comes every August to count...More

We loved the flamingos over there. There were two types of them, one bigger and one smaller and more pink. I think we stayed over half an hour taking pictures!

The waterfront at Wallis Bay runs between the harbour at one end and the salt factory at the other. There is a long stretch near the harbour with parking where pelicans, flamingos and other wild birds congregate. Offices for tourist attractions are in the harbour...More

Wow was this a experience with the salt procedure and the ways it lay on the banks. The birds are a must, they are so beautiful and there are a variety of sorts. A must for Walvis Bay.

One of the few things to do / see at Walvis Bay. Mandatory to take photos to the flamingos. Walvis Bay is an industrial city with very few to see / offer. But if you are there, do not miss the flamingos.

This is a real treat to see the Flamingo and Pelican and other birds cohabit. A very nice walk along the water front is refreshing. Paved roads and easy to walk on

Walvis Bay Waterfront has good bird congregations, but we were told late evenings were the best time in terms of bird concentrations.
