Great and interesting curiosa shop
Jul 2019
Standing out of all the antique shops and arts and craft shops in Swakopmund, with an interesting collection of books (natural history, geography, culture; and yes also some dubious German literature and paraphernalia).

I had a particular interest in some of the etnographics; SAN objects and African masks.

Very friendly owners. I bought a old Songwe mask at reasonable price, which was very well packed for me for the long journey further through Namibia. Had a nuce chat with the owner as well.

African Art at its best
Feb 2019 • Family
It feels like you entering a museum, with a difference you actually can buy the stuff at reasonable prices.
And what makes the place so unique ... Its the only place in world which is Voodoo protected, which gives it a mysterious and protected environment. Look for those letters of people who ignored the Voodoo. Its also hysterical.

A definite must when visiting Swakopmund

colonial nostalgia and Nazi books
Feb 2018 • Solo
Can not understand why this place is considered a tourist attraction! If you want to buy Mein Kampff this is the place to go...Lots of colonial relics and lots of books defending the Third Reich. It is interesting as a symbol of the revisionism and nostalgia that exists, but I do hope that tourists that go there also read more adequate books on Namibian history.

They really must change the name..that's a handful of antique stuff. The rest all African stuff and a few books. Very disappointed.

Not worth the effort
Jul 2017 • Friends
We went there as it has such good reviews. Very disappointed. It is really a curio shop with souvenirs and not worth the effort to get there and certainly not worth 5 stars

Very nice shop to get lost in books, ethnographical items and the history of Swakopmund/Namibia. We definitely need to go back to have a second look at all the different things.

A real "jumble sale '

Peters is such a mixture of things it is difficult to review.
They range from classy silks to odd souvenires. Certainly worth a look if you are looking for that odd, different present. They had lots of things we did not see elsewhere.

Namibia's odd bits and pieces

Apart from some well kept antique items all sorts of authentic namibian items. If you are in midtown and have spare time you must drop in.
