SafariWise is a family run business. Our knowledge of Africa and our experience in leading specialized safaris has continued to grow over the last 23 years. We are a tour operator based in Namibia, specialising in tours within our own country and throughout Africa. We have extended our boundaries due to various demands of our existing clients and newly fresh enquiries.
Who does not want to be able to tick-off the migration at Masai-Mara or have a close encounter with the gorillas in Uganda. Come with us ... we lead the way! We offer a wide variety of safaris, from camping tours to fly-in safaris, self-drive or guided tours, individual travel or group tours, general holidays or specialized birding and photographic tours, as well as several scheduled tours.
Our featured tours are there to inspire, not dictate. We focus our efforts on tailor-made African experiences that suit you and your budget.

We travelled to Namibia on a Naturetrek trip with twelve other keen naturalists. Neil and Jakes were absolutely superb guides, highly skilled and brimming with enthusiasm and information. We enjoyed a wonderful safari during which we saw almost 250 bird species, forty mammals and several reptiles. Many of the group were interested in photography and the opportunities which were on offer were quite outstanding. The standard of accommodation and food throughout could not have been bettered. We are already planning our return.

We booked our SafariWise Namibia trip through the UK company Naturetrek. It was superb, among the best natural history trips that we have been on in many years of travelling. Our guides were Neil and Jakes, both of whom have broad and deep knowledge and are highly adept at finding the wildlife. The route was excellent, taking us to beautiful places and diverse habitats. We saw all of the big mammals that we hoped for, and >220 bird species.

This was our 5th trip with SafariWise. This time we took our daughter and 2 of her children - our 14yr old grandson and our 8yr old autistic granddaughter who also has many food allergies. We were a bit apprehensive but nothing was a problem. We had a fantastic holiday. Berdene had organised a programme to suit us all and Jakes was an excellent, knowledgeable and friendly guide, many times going beyond the call of duty. We’re looking forward now to planning our next SafariWise trip.

Had the most amazing two week experience in Namibia on tour with Neil Macleod. Neil showed my family and I everything there is to know about Namibia, we had the best time and definitely want to come back again to have a second tour with SafariWise. If you are looking for a tour company with local knowledge and skill whom you will learn a lot from then you have come to the right place. Highly recommend!!!

Had an amazing time in Namibia thanks to our guide Neil. Always very helpful and very knowledgeable. Learned a lot in just 2 weeks. Would not have been the same trip without him.

Berdene and the Safariwise team, I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for organising an amazing trip for us. Our family have never been to Africa and the amazing experiences we had we will never forget. All the places you recommended were incredible for their own reasons and we enjoyed the contrast of the dry areas to start with through to the Chobe river cruises. We saw an amazing array of animal life that ticked all our boxes.
I want to make special mention of our guides, Charl and Jakes, who treated all of us to an amazing time and took care of everything. You could have mistaken them as the owners of your business; they did such a great job, as they were passionate about all of us having the best possible time and making sure that we were well catered for. Meeting them both and spending time with them just makes us want to come back to Africa soon for another adventure.
Thanks again, and all the best.

Yet another incredible adventure organised by Safariwise and superbly well-led by owner Neil MacLeod, this time in Uganda. Our local Ugandan guide Ben was also very able. The highlights were many - including an hour spent in the company of a family of 15 Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. We watched the silverback eating his breakfast of vine stems, a female caring for her 2 month-old baby, and older youngsters playfully sparring. Another highlight was a close encounter in a swamp with a Shoebill - a large, prehistoric-looking and highly endangered member of the stork family of birds. Some incredible amphibians and reptiles, too, including the extraordinary three-horned, bright green and yellow, Jackson's Chameleon - found only in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where the Mt. Gorillas also live. Colourful Blue-headed Tree Agama lizards everywhere, too.
I can thoroughly recommend both Safariwise and owner Neil MacLeod to provide the holiday of a lifetime - whether in Uganda or elsewhere.

This was our fourth safari with Safari Wise. (3 in Namibia and 1 in Uganda) We had met our leader,Neil McLeod in passing during past safaris however this was the first where he was leading us.
We were very impressed with how much Neil cared that our experience was top notch. Neil would regularly check in with us to ensure that everything was good and if not (which was rare) would endeavour to make it right. And certainly the little extras went a long way in showing us his concern for making the safari a memorable experience. One night, unknown to my wife and me, Neil arranged with the lodge for a wedding anniversary cake and wine for our dinner. It was totally unexpected but certainly appreciated.
Another event that was a total surprise was our morning boat ride down the Victoria Nile to the delta where it flows into Lake Albert for a fully catered breakfast.
Uganda was a pleasant surprise. If you are a Birder or a nature photographer then you will be in your glory.
We highly recommend Neil and his team at Safari Wise for your African adventure.

Safari wise:wildlife and birding tour.We had a fantastic tour, going to Queen Elizabeth NP, Lake Mauro NP and Bwindi impenetrable forest. Saw lots of birds and other animals.Lodges were excellent, food was great. our guide was knowledgeable and organised. We did several trips on boats, on river and lake.Wi fi was not good anywhere. The last day we had a breakfast in the bush, which was fun, and sundowners in the evening.
