Was closed unfortunately, but I was told from this tower you could observe the hall Swakopmund! The highest building in the town! Next time I will certainly try to climb it )))

Nice views from the tower
Jan 2021 • Solo
Right now Woermannhaus is used as a library and art gallery. You can find a guard in the yard and ask him to get to the tower. It costs 20N$ (1,5 USD). The views from the top are nice on a sunny day. And you would have 360deg observation desk for yourself, because there are usually not so many people interested to get up without a lift.

Beautiful building
Dec 2019
This house is designed in 1904 and erected in 1905 for the Damara and Namaque trading company which was sold in 1909 to Mr Carl Woerman.
In 1975 the house was given to the Swakopmund administration and a year later it was restored.

Unique Architecture
Jan 2020
This colonial building stands out because of the tall tower and is probably the best representation of the unique architecture in this charming town. Make sure you walk by and take a photo.

Well worth a visit
Jun 2019 • Couples
This is definitely worth a visit. Quite a low cost and you’re escorted to the tower with the door locked behind you! That was a bit strange. Apart from that you have a really good view all over Swapokmund and you can really see the desert meeting the town and the sea. There’s also a good map so you can get your bearings too and a gift shop downstairs.

The town of Swakopmund is all flat and the tower gives you the opporunity to get overall view, which is nice. Absolutely worth 20 namibian bucks.

Great historical place
Dec 2017 • Family
This place has early German history of settlers arriving in Namibia. Provides you with a perspective of their lives then. If you have any German connection you'll find it useful. Even if you don't, the preserved building is worth to admire.

Good ciews

Worth paying the N€20 for the views across Swakopmund.

When I went there was a security guard who showed me to the room where you get the key from. It is around the courtyard but there were plenty of signs. Try and go later in the day (it is open until sunset) so you get the views when the sun is lower in the sky.
