I will not recommend it !
Full of many “crafters” which sell exactly the same stuff :D everyone is grabbing you and screaming at you. For me that was such a scam except a couple of guys which were making the souvenirs on the spot. Prices a negotiable but very high. I expected something different.

Worth a look if you are passing and curious (like me) but I found most of the things for sale to be damaged by the sun and/or rain. Table mats I picked up were wet from the morning sea fog still although a glorious sunny afternoon. The colours had also got faded. I asked for a better price due to this and got a mouthful from the girl about feeding her family. Was then quite aggressive if following and shouting at me when I walked away.
There are much better items in the numerous souvenir shops.
If you want excellent crafts - go to the big indoor one in Windhoek.

My recent visit to the Craft Market Swakopmund was a bit of a mixed experience. This open-air market offers a wide variety of curios, which is great if you're looking for souvenirs and gifts. One thing I liked was the willingness of sellers to negotiate prices, making it more accessible for budget-conscious travelers. Safety was never a concern for us during our visit and there is ample parking available close by. Plus, the market's proximity to other tourist attractions is a bonus. However, I must admit that the intensity of some sellers was a drawback. Their overbearing sales tactics and in-your-face approach can make some visitors uncomfortable. Overall, the Craft Market Swakopmund is a good place to go if you're looking for curios, but be prepared for some pushy sales tactics; just stay assertive from your side.

I was really impressed with the market and seeing everything together but then…everyone is selling the same things and the same things that I bought in Zanzibar 10 years ago !?!? It really feels…fake maybe!
I Aldo found very funny that the “traders” at the beginning of the market were really relaxed and polite but the stall holders at the end were more aggressive! I bought something, bargained a bit and bought souvenirs for friends…

The African street market is near the beachfront and the lighthouse. There are many sellers with batiks, wooden bowls, clothing, figurines, masks, soapstone and assortment of all kinds of souvenirs. This is a way to invest in the community directly with these sellers as many shops are more overpriced for some of the same goods. Definitely do some comparisons but I’m sure you’ll find at least the experience to be worth a look.

Swakopmund's artisans and souvenir sellers have gathered together here all in the one place. It's worth a wander, although the quality and prices vary.

Very pushy and unpleasant! Prices are ridiculously high! You feel very uncomfortable! The same products are also available in the center, where you can buy them without having to worry.
