Knowledgeable and friendly guides. Will never look at desert dunes in the same way again. Doug and Kevin went to great lengths to uncover the wonders of the awesome desert life for us.

We had Chris Nel as our guide for the Living Desert Tour to search for the Little 5. He picked us up at the gate of our Guesthouse. We did heard some story's but we couldn't image what to really expect. Well, I can be really short about it. It was absolutely amazing and I really recommend Chris as your guide. Wow, wow and again: wow. Such a passionated man who knows a lot about the little animals living in the Desert. Before starting the tour he told us some rules and a very interesting introduction about how the desert system works and how the wildlife and plants are surviving on the little amount of water provided by rain and moisture. If you are in Swakopmund or when you are planning to travel through Swakopmund, please believe me and book this tour at Living Desert Adventures. It is absolutely worth it. A 10 out of 10! Chris, when you are reading this, thank you very much for everything! Greetings, Tim and Ilse from Holland!

We had been looking forward to the tour for months and were not disappointed. Grant led the tour. Luckily for us there was only one other couple on the tour so it was a very personal experience. Grant was very knowledgeable, and had a lovely relaxed and engaging manner. We felt the beauty of the tour lay in helping people to realise that ‘big’ isn’t necessarily ‘best’, and that small creatures have an intrinsic value and interest which is often overlooked. We came away appreciating how the flora and fauna of the desert environment are adapted and connected in so many amazing ways. This company clearly is devoted to the conservation of this precious environment. Thanks, Grant, for a great tour. Best wishes, Steve and Bev.

Before starting the real tour Douglas gave us a very interesting extensive introduction explanation about how the desert system works and how the wildlife and plants are surviving on the little amount of water provided by rain and moisture. Meanwhile his assistants were exploring the area to find some examples of the surprising amount of wildlife living in the desert. We learned to know a lot of new things in a few hours that went by way to fast. the guides did a wonderful job and we can only recommend to go on tour with them while they pay the greatest respect to the wildlife they catched so they could show them to us, did not collect the white spider because they were having a hard time lately and could use some protection to recover and increase numbers again. Thank you Douglas, Laetitia and team for a very interesting tour.
