    Great long beach
Very long quiet beach - lots of food vendors at where the car parks are at top of the beach. Quite a few rocks etc underfoot which is main drawback. Water is very clear in the lagoon area at the top.

    Flic en Flac Beach
As we stayed at the Sands. This was our main beach, a long stretch of beach, it is over 6 miles. I would sometimes walk along the beach from the Sands up to the Hilton hotel and back again. At the other more public end you would find food shacks. It is also a great spot to enjoy sunsets.

    Nice beach at all.
Very long, sandy beach, clear water, perfect for swimming, no waves, as the island is protected by coral reefs. Some food tracks providing relatively cheap take away meals. Restaurants at the other side of the road. Very nice and pleasant place.

    Clean and atmospheric beach
Visited flic on flack beach shortly after arriving in Mauritius as it was near our accommodation. The beach is a lovely space with white sands, blue waters and shady spots under the trees higher up. The beach has a welcoming atmosphere with many families, celebrations and gatherings to be seen. There is also a good selection of street food vendors and restaurants nearby or just across the road

One of the best beaches in Mauritius
I deducted a star as I compare it against other beaches in the world like the ones in Maldives, Mediterranean, Caribbean and in Pacific islands. However it is one of the best beaches in Mauritius. Flic en Flac on a sunny day is just so stunningly beautiful. When I arrived at Hilton Mauritius I was so impressed by the long stretch of the beach with the beautiful light blue water colour. It also presents with stunning sunsets on sunny days. Snorkeling is ok. Snorkeling spots are far in the water marked by red buoy (at least the ones in front of Hilton). We snorkeled here, turtle bay, Mont Choisy and Ile aux Cerf. The snorkeling is not spectacular any where. In Flic en flac, I saw a moray eel, box fishes, butterfly fishes, flute fish, lion fishes, trigger fishes, small giant clams, brain coral a few smaller starborn corals and soft corals. Most corals there are brain corals. Be ware of urchins and lion fishes. There is also a warning for stone fish but that I did not find. For swimming and snorkeling, the water can be on the shallow side. Morning high tide is advisable because fishes are more active and it tends to be sunnier in the morning. High tide is important as otherwise it can be really shallow. The swimming zone (marked in yellow) was mostly free of urchins. However, it does not mean that no urchins can move in!! When I swim for snorkeling, I saw a few urchins even inside the swimming zone in front of the hotels. Besides, there are a lot of broken corals on the beach (this is the same to every beach we’ve been to in Mauritius including the famous Ile aux Cerf). So, it is safer to wear swimming shoes for playing in the sea. For hiking, the visible sandy patch was pretty soft and I walked on my bare feet with a bit of attention to avoid any broken corals or tree branches.

The beach can be separated into two areas.
The beach can be separated into two areas. The northern half a public beach with 25 metre deep woods between it and the coast road. Plenty of car parking and small snack stalls for food and soft drinks. A nice stretch of white sand and azure blue sea. No sunbeds just bring your own towels, rush mats or chairs as the locals do. As you walk the 2 km south you pass by all the All Inclusive 4 and 5* hotels. Here the beaches could be cleaned, get a bit wider sand in parts and are a lovely picturesque stretch. However you will pass continuous sunbeds, there is no break, just one after the other filling the beach which is not so picturesque. Huge beach, beautiful views - quieter or more busy areas to choose from
The beach is very long, with several areas and we chose to spend the day more to the south, where just off the sand there are plenty of trees to take cover in from the sun. The colour of the water was fantastic, the water was warm - and all the other people in that area, were families like ours, who were perfectly respectful of our space and the environment. There are lovely views over to Le Morne Brabant, especially whilst bobbing around in the sea. Lovely way to spend a few hours although there was an ice cream van parked nearby who had his 'jingle' playing for hours - which became annoying. Still, that was just where we were - and we can recommend this beach.

    Great place, must swim!
Went 2/5/2022(Europe format)in the afternoon and yet, same things; ice cream trucks, boueys, and few people swimming (including us). Within boueys, you can put your head underwater and see fish. Quiet, clean and well maintained. Note: see date written for real info.

    Wonderful beach
The houses in the area are quite run down. However, it is a beautiful beach. Great for snorkelling. Street food is inexpensive and great. We were there on a Saturday and it got quite festive with families coming to the beach and playing music and just having a good time. All in a nice way.

Amazing beach with clear water. There’s plenty of place to eat and drink to suit all budgets. We spent many hours there and the sunsets are amazing.

Don’t believe the hype and visit this beach ONLY if you are in the area as we did.
If you are looking to stay in the hotel on this beach don’t do it, we felt sorry for the people who payed to stay on the beach and obviously ended up sharing it with hundreds of other people who are just passing by.
It’s not the cleanest beach too.
There is nothing more to add really.

Nothing special. I have seen a lot of wonderful pictures with this beach but probably have been photoshoped.
For me it was disapointing. Dirty, crowded. Maybe because we were on Saturday afternoon.

Just be careful of the dolphin tour sellers on the beach - we paid a deposit and then they cancelled on us on the morning of the trip and now won’t return our calls. Been to the police and they can’t do anything even though they know this guy. Even got a receipt of payment but it’s 4000 down the drain
