The two roomed museum is dedicated to a rare species of fish found of the East African coast. The entire focus of the museum was on the discovery and science of the fish with nothing much to do with Malindi cultural history. There was a...More

I stopped by the museum on my way from the Vasco da Gama pillar. I expected some details about the history of the town but was utterly disappointed to find that the entire museum display was dedicated to a rare fish( coelecanth).

@Vasco da Gama pillar, you learn a lot from13th century.Located along the coastline means you can have an excursion and enjoy a hot afternoon. There is actual evidence about the historical town and you can have a glance of some items at the museum.

The small 2 room museum is not worth the stop really. But the entry includes entry to the point as well and that was nice to see with a great breeze. It enabled a walk but not well maintained

The museum has only two rooms... there is only few to see, but the we must evaluate the efforts of Malindi to show something to the visitors. The entrance is free if you have a ticket from Vasco da Gama Pillar.
