Anyone who loves history should stop by the famous beach with the Sakamoto Ryoma statue. There is a nice little aquarium, pretty shrine, and many gift shops in the area, so there are plenty of activities for all family members. However, due to the tides...More

Got a telling off from a man with a megaphone for paddling in the water, so don't count on going for a swim. The giant statue of Ryoma Sakamoto is pretty cool, and the beach itself is rather pretty.

Me and my wife decided to meet our dear japanese friends here at Kochi city. They suggested also visit Katsurahama beach. It was very beautiful, though it's not the swimming nor sunbathing beach. Strong waves across Pacific, right same latitude as Orange county in California,...More

A great place for photographing seashore scenery. Visit Ryoma’s tall bronze statue, climb up many stairs to cliffside scenic spots, visit a castle ruin site, take in an aquarium, among other things to do. Your MyYu 1-day pass allows you to catch the ordinary local...More

Katurahama is one of the most beautiful beache in Kochi. However swimming is prohibited here. A beautiful moon may be seen when you go out at night. 高知と言えば桂浜。空港からそれほど遠くないので、市内に行く前に寄るのが効率的かも。水は綺麗ですが、遊泳は禁止とか。月がきれいらしいのので、次は夜に訪れたい。

Waves beat the shore even without strong winds. You can command over-180-degree view of the sea horizon. When you stand at Katsurahama Beach, there is no wonder why bakumatsu patriots in Tosa could enjoy wider outlook on the world than those in the center of...More

Visited Kochi city for business in December 2017, weather was good and i decided to go to Katsurahama Beach - this place is just regular, quiet small area without special twist - so if you have time you can go although if you will not...More

Nothing to see in this beach. Nothing special and the view is not spectacular. But it is nearby the cruise port.

It was October when I visited the place. The sunshine was still strong and we found it hard to walk around the beach. Cooler season ks better to visit. You can enjoy shopping near the beach.
