I must have been here about ten times by now. Every time we have visitors coming to see us, we often stop there to walk around and take photos. It is a very nice looking castle, and one that is not swarming with tourists, so...More

There is little left of the castle but the two watch towers remain and are striking in their colour and prominence. The gardens are not large but pleasant enough to stroll around. Bonsai trees for sale. Entrance fee is only 200 yen so very reasonable....More

The castle used to be the symbol of Takamatsu but now stands in the shadow of the tall buildings nearby. Inside there is a nice pine tree garden, some large buildings which can't be entered and a small historical exhibit. All in all not much...More

We had seen the castle, just by the port, from the window of our hotel room. Frankly, that was the best part of the castle itself. We paid a small entrance fee and scarmbled the ruins, but there was nothing exciting there, not even better...More

This castle is in the heart of the city and is quite impressive. The view from the top is lovely. A classic photo opportunity is a picture of the Kotoden Railway train with the castle in the background.

The park surrounding the castle is very nice. Architecturally, it looks like a typical Japanese castle, but I do like visiting the different castles, reading their different histories and what finer details set them apart from the rest.

The ruins of the castle walls are charming and most interesting because of the sea water moat which is very picturesque. The garden was particularly beautiful, not large, but lovely. It was very quiet when we visited and very peaceful. Some gorgeous buildings and the...More

OK it is only the ruined stone bases and moats of what was once a huge castle area by the sea. Even so it is worth the modest entry fee (free for seniors) and the garden is well presented.

We visited in June when it was free in the evening. The garden and the castle were lighted up and it looked absolutely beautiful!
