This is a nice place to visit. Is a genuine Japanese house. A nice lady at the entrance offered to make me a tour and explained to me about he house. Very interesting visit and only a few tourists.

A large restored house in old Nara, functioning in part as a gallery and education space. There is not that much to see - several interconnected tatami rooms, with a small garden. Free to visit, however.

Another hidden gem in the Naramachi area. This old merchants house has been restored and made open free to visitors. A beautiful house and gardens. Free English language guide brochure is available.

Off the track and totally interesting. A great opportunity to tour a 1917 Naramachi Traditional House for free and see daily life in an old tradesmen's House. Beautiful garden, great architecture, an old kitchen, and Tea Room.
