It takes you an auspicious time for Calm and Serene in mind to visit this holy place. You will enjoy the Deers that push their heads against you for crackers or pieces of bread. Be careful of them to take the paper tissues or plastic...More

The structure is massive and quite an architectural achievement during its time. The Buddha is monstrous in size. Nice walk through the Nara park with all the deer walking around looking for food from the visitors.

was the visit to Nara, and in particular, Toda-ji Temple. Its beautiful. The Buddha Statue, the other statues in the hall, etc - amazing! it was also fun watching people wriggling their way through Buddha's Nostril!

Everything about this site is huge. The imposing Nandaimon as you approach is very imposing and is guarded by two Nio guardian kings, giant scary characters who themselves are designated ‘national treasures’ however this is just a warm up for the monumental Dalbutsuden reconstructed in...More

Located in the north side of Nara park this temple is a must to see. When you follow a trail clockwise through the park it is one of the first big structures you will see. Inside there is a huge Buddha statue and the construction...More

The temple buildings are set in a widespread park full of a peaceful mix of tourists and small deers. It's a pity the great wooden masterpieces inside the main tori had to be kept behind an iron web, in the dark, because they are as...More
