Perhaps because it requires an entrance fee, this garden is untarnished by the touristy crowds outside. For the ¥900 I was offered a free English guide around the garden which I learnt a lot from about Japanese landscaping and culture. The garden is quintessentially Japanese...More

Went on a visit to Nara, very peaceful and beautiful. One of my favorite parks in Japan. Not crowded so you could take your time wandering around. Lovely visit

What a lovely garden to sit and relax in total calmness. You can walk round and it is very quiet and serene. There is a tea room where you can get tea or lunch and sit looking out over the garden. The garden covers nearly...More

A friend recommended that we visit Isuien Garden during our visit to Nara. We are glad we did! Such a peaceful garden away from the busy and noisy shrines/ temples. The entrance fee is 900 yen for adults, pricey but I think worth it.

This is an exquisite jewel of a garden. The texture of the land, water and plants is in perfect balance. We were there in the first week in April on a comfortable sunny day – and it was glorious to walk around this garden -...More

This is an exquisite garden which is a traditional Japanese walking garden. The entry fee of 900 yen is good value as this also included a tour of the garden from an expert guide. Probably the best garden that we visited in Japan.

I felt the entrance fee was higher than usual (Yen 900 if I recall correctly) but when I think back about my day in Nara the garden was a big factor in making the whole trip so much more worthwhile. I visited. It is not...More

Amazing garden. One of the best I have been to in Japan. I went on a rainy day so the setting made for a great experience. The water was so still at times it made a perfect reflection. Just sat there for what seemed like...More

Hi Jolly, You will find it is OK with stroller, you may need to hold baby here and there, because the path is not smooth like drive way. Hope it is helpful. Cheers, Linda
