Nothing remained of the original gate so the building is just a modern approximation. I found it a bit disappointing.

It stands out because there is nothing else around - but you can see that they are developing the temple complex to its original splendor. I think once it is done - it will be amazing.

The gate itself was massive and okay for taking pics, but the surroundings were not that wow. From this gate to the Daigokuden Hall, it requires some walking (10+ min), as the distance's quite far. When we visited this place, there weren't many tourists, probably...More

Really now, this is not an attraction. Just a big Japanese office building. It may have some historical value, but I can't imagine what. Across the street is a very nice museum.

The structure is another gate a long way from the centre of town. It is the official gate to the palace. The palace is another lovely building but there is not much else there apart from a very plain throne. No impressive grounds etc. Very...More
