If you're wondering whether you need to go inside... No you dont 😊 Sure, it's nice if you're very mobile and have free time but if you're concerned about the steep steps and long queues - the main attraction is viewing it from the outside....More

The castle is stunning and dominates the town of Himeji. Great to sit in the park and admire but not really worth the charge to go inside. All the rooms inside have been cleared out so all you really do is walk to the top...More

It's a nice castle especially from the outside. The inside is not really decorated so a bit boring. You have a app that should show more but it's not downloadable for us.

All necessary advice has already been dished. Allow me to share one more - travel light to Himeji. There is a need to take off your shoes & climb several flights of steps - so make sure you arrived prepared for the task.
