The collection includes Paul Gauhgan, Monet, Picasso, and Warhol. ITs not a huge collection but interesting and worth the trip. Wonderful open reception and viewing gallery. Some interesting pieces from Japanese artists. Very friendly and helpful staff.

How lucky to come by at the time of a Monet exhibition. Magnificent art gallery, the building is spectacular, lots of space and light. The Monet exhibition was excellent also, highly recommended.

It may seem a bit odd to go to a predominantly European surrealism exhibit at a Japanese gallery, but it works wonderfully. First it is brilliantly curated, with fine examples of international art of that genre, not just from the heyday, but over time. Second,...More

The Yokohama Museum of Art is just the nice size for spending an hour or two. One wing is dedicated to special exhibitions and when I went they had a photography exhibition by Ishiuchi Miyako which I really enjoyed. I especially loved the "silk room",...More

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. We saw an exhibition of Japanese modern and contemporary art. It is a really nice space, and you can probably see most of it in 2-3 hours if you're not up for slowly walking around it...More
